Do I Have to Practice Now?
I remember saying that a lot when I was a kid taking piano lessons. I took that sentence and turned it into this quilt. It turned out to be rather popular. I made three different versions of this quilt. I think I still have version #3.
The cat is sitting on the piano bench turned toward the window staring at the birds outside. I think he'd rather be outside chasing those birds. I certainly felt like that when I was practicing, especially scales.
I had fun creating this piece. The floor is drafted to look dimensional. It is made from black and white silk fabric pieces to give it the shimmer like a marble floor. The wallpaper is created by using a sheer drapery fabric. The piano is a piece of black satin with gold metallic fabric accents. And finally, the cat is made from fake fur.
It measures about 40"x46".
