I Didn't Do It
This is one of those pieces of art that is based on reality. Our back patio was being painted and of course our cat decided that he wanted to come back inside. He didn't want to wait for the paint to dry. So, with paws wet with fresh paint he came running through the cat door right onto the white bedroom carpeting, then down the hall and into the kitchen leaving a trail of bright blue paw prints. And since this was outside oil-based paint, it did not come out of the carpet. Not too long after that we installed hardwood flooring.
I immortalized the incident in this quilt. For my art version I had the cat inside a room being painted and the cat has knocked over one of the paint cans. I used a shiny taffeta fabric and metallic thread to simulate the look of wet paint. And of course the cat is walking away like nothing has happened.
This piece measures about 36"x42"
