Fiber Art of Loretta Alvarado View this email in your browser Quick update... Sadly my father passed away last month. This has been a very difficult time for me and my family. I am very grateful for the support we have received from all of our friends and extended family. What should I work on next? I am getting back into artistic mode and trying to decide what to create next. You may recall that many months ago I started working on a piece that was going to be of the Newport to Ensenada sailboat race with Catalina Island in the background. Well, that just wasn't working. I finished the background with the island. Placing a bunch of tiny boats in the foreground just didn't look right. So, on to plan B: the view from a sailboat headed to Catalina. I just need to add the sailboat to finish this piece. Then there's the piece to honor my Dad. He served on board the USS Floyd B Parks. My brother suggested that I do a piece to commemorate his years of service. Next idea is from my favorite walking path. There was beautiful afternoon sunlight filtering through the trees. I really like this image, although I think I would make it a cobblestone path instead of the concrete. Lastly, here is a lovely photo from one of my favorite wineries. It is Plum Hill in Oregon.
